The European voluntary service

With the Czech Republic entrance to the EU program "young people" opens new opportunity for young people in between 18-26 years to take a part in the European Voluntary Service (EVS). Our young people will not only work for a particular time in some of the EU countries, but also czech organizations can accept foreign volunteers. This is a short introductory information for the basic orientation and potential first steps in the project - the European voluntary service.

What are the main goals of the European voluntary service?

It brings for the young volunteer - a new facts of life, (self)recognition, self-confidence, language knowledges, a new life and professional orientation, social and communication competences, motivation.

For the sending and receiving organization - new experiences and ideas, new contacts, new possibilities of the cooperation, european proportion, interculture benefit.

The operation areas:
- protection of the environment
- art, cultural inheritance
- social area
- work with children and youth, information for the youth
- sport

Projects after the length
- short-term (3 weeks, 6 month) - just for the disadvantaged volunteers
- long-term (6-12 month)

What should do the interested young person in the European voluntary service.
First of all find the organization which can send him. Together with them or alone find the partnership organization. For this is established the central databases of the European Commission with authorized host organization (www.sosforevs.org).

How to get in the central databases of the host organizations?
It is necessary through the CNA "Young people" send to the European Commission short organization report and vignette of the preparing host project including general security. The certificate procedure should take maximal 6 weeks. The interested people fill in the Expression of Interest (available in the www.mladezvakci.cz) and give them in CNA!.

The financial covering of the voluntary projects
Cofinancing: EU + sending organization + receiving organization!

Sended organization - grant
- travelling expenses of the volunteer - 100 %
- contributions for the preparing period - 600 + 20/month
- other necessary expences

Receiving organization - grant
- spending-money of the volunteer - par value
- accommodation costs + program - 600 + 300/month
- other necessary expences

The calendar of two-sided projects - valid for all countries
