Seminars, practices and databases

The main mission of volunteer centers is the publicity and support the idea of volunteerism in our society. The voluntary centers joint into Voluntary initiatives coalition.

1) Service for nonprofit organizations - cooperation with regional partners, for which the centers looks and negotiates volunteers and leads volunteers and organizations databases, organizes campaigns to obtain volunteers. The centers helps nonprofit organizations with voluntary projects, paticipation on the supervision and on evaluation of voluntary work.
2) Educational and learning activities - seminars and trainings with volunteers and coordinators of volunteers for nonprofit organizations. Some of the centers cooperate with universities, high schools (ex. Ceske Budejovice, Brno, Kromeriz, Praha) where prepares seminars and courses about volunteerism and nonprofit sector.
3) Self voluntary programs - solved problems with the community, ex. preventive programs for children and youth, for seniors and handicapped, for unemployed etc.
4) International cooperation - for bigger status and volunteerism professionality is necessary to be connected in the international voluntary organizations and participate on theirs activities as conferences or voluntary projects. Hestia - NDC and many others regional centers are participants in the VOLUNTEERNET, then international organizations as IAVE (International Association for Volunteer Effort), CEV (The European Volunteer Centre), BBBSI (Big Brothers Big Sisters International) and ENYMO (European Network for Youth Mentoring Organisation). Informations and experiences from this organizations are transfered by the centers into the work and by the conferences and seminars provided for interested persons.
5) PR volunteering - cooperation with medias, public, regions, local government and state organs of purpose to rehabilitate and support volunteering. The centers are publishing materials about volunteering in the national journals and magazines but also in the regional press, the same we can say about broadcasting stations.
